becham calibration tube

Indicated for Sleeve Gastrectomy and Gastric Bypass.

The Becham Calibration Tube has been designed in consultation with leading Australian Bariatric Surgeons. After a number of attempts we came up the ideal calibration tube that is both firm enough and soft enough for easy use and patient safety.

The Becham Tube has two Lumens, which allows for safe suction of the stomach contents and the administration of Methadone Blue for leak
testing.

More importantly the Calibration Tubes is easy to position and will remain in place and not push back against the greater curvature of the stomach.

  • Tube for administering meth-blue is 2mm in diameter. This means less wastage and administration at the desired site only.
  • No need to remove reusable bogie and insert gastric catheter to check for leaks. Suction Tubing is standard allowing emptying of the stomach

Dr Kevin Dolan places a 34french calibration tube with relative ease during a sleeve gastrectomy.
Note that once he positions the tube and releases it, it does not kick back against the greater curvature of the stomach.
